Announcement of the Conference: Directive (EU) 2024/1760 and the Duty of Care for Companies: What Consequences in Europe and Turkey?
As part of the SOCRETUR program, supported by the European Commission through the Jean Monnet Modules, we are honored to invite you to an exceptional conference hosted by Frédérique Michéa, Associate Professor of Public Law at the University of Rennes.
This event will take place on Wednesday, October 31, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, in room H402 at Galatasaray University. The conference will focus on Directive (EU) 2024/1760 and the implications of the duty of care for companies in Europe and Turkey.
The duty of care requires companies to prevent and mitigate risks related to human rights, environmental protection, and good governance within their supply chains. This directive, which represents a significant development in European law, raises complex legal issues. The conference will analyze the legal and economic impacts on companies in Turkey and Europe, while offering practical insights into how companies can comply with these new obligations.
The SOCRETUR project (Social Rights as Tools of Europeanization From Below) explores social rights as tools of Europeanization, focusing on the interactions between Europe and Turkey. Supported by the European Commission, this program promotes a better understanding of social rights and their influence on social reforms in different national contexts, thereby fostering cooperation between European countries and Turkey.
We look forward to your participation in this strategic discussion about the role of this directive in shaping the future of European and Turkish companies.
